The Draymond Green-Kendrick Perkins feud continues to escalate. And while it might be hard to believe, it’s getting even more personal.

After making up a take that no one was holding Green or the Golden State Warriors accountable, Perkins took his attacks up a notch. The analyst recently went on ESPN’s “First Take” and declared that Green was “afraid” to take certain shots. Perkins also claimed that the assists Green racked up during Golden State’s series against Memphis were so easy that he, Perkins, could have done it.

For what it’s worth, Perkins ended his career with 813 regular season assists, while Green has 3,733 and counting.

It appears that Perkins’ comments reached Green, who put together 14 points, 8 assists and 15 rebounds in the Dubs’ series-clinching win on Friday night. In his postgame remarks, Green referred to Perkins as a “ big ogre on TV talking.”

Green also warned that the words “scared” and “Draymond” should never be uttered in the same sentence.

Draymond’s son DJ, for one, could not believe someone called his dad scared.

And the four-time All-Star also took exception with Perkins saying that anyone could complete Green’s passes. “That’s just stupid, and these are people employed to talk on TV about our game. Anybody could make that pass? You couldn’t!” said Green, who competed against Perkins early in his career.

“What I say is the gospel,” Green concluded.

No one ever said he was modest.

Rather than respond to any basketball points, Perkins fired back in a late-night social media post about the physical appearance jab Draymond made.

“Man, you ain’t cute. You ain’t handsome,” Perkins said to Green.

Things really went off the rails from there.

“I’ve been with my wife since the 10th grade. Dimepiece. So don’t get it twisted,” said Perkins.

It’s wonderful that Perkins has had a long, successful marriage and that he finds his wife beautiful. Using your spouse’s attractiveness is nevertheless a bonkers response to a basketball debate.

With the Warriors advancing to the Western Conference Finals, and with Perkins always up for a headline-grabbing take, this decidedly personal feud is unlikely to abate anytime soon.
