Jack Della Maddalena is unbothered by Dana White’s high expectations following his Dana White’s Contender Series win over Ange Loosa.
Australia has produced some of the best UFC talents over the past few years and Jack Della Maddalena is looking to become the next great Australian in the promotion. Maddalena earned an opportunity to fight on Dana White’s Contender Series and seized it with a unanimous decision win over Ange Loosa.
UFC president Dana White praised Maddalena and called him “special” after awarding him a contract. During his post-fight press conference, Maddalena seemed cool, calm and collected after hearing about White’s comments.
“The only reason I do this is because I want to compete with the best in the world. So it’s better for me,” Maddalena said.
“I have so much time to reassess with quarantine and all that, but I’m very excited for that first UFC fight.”

Maddalena makes the move to the UFC after a dominant start to his MMA career, going 9-2 with nine straight wins coming into DWCS. He also competed on a one-fight deal with Cage Warriors and submitted James Duckett in the second round.
Maddalena is part of a one-man show over at Scrappy MMA in Willetton, AU. Similar to another bright UFC prospect in light heavyweight Jimmy Crute, the 25-year-old Maddalena is the sole focus of his fight camp.
Maddalena showed off impressive standup to go with efficient grappling to overwhelm Loosa in the octagon. The UFC welterweight division has another bright up-and-comer in the form of the 25-year-old Maddalena.
