“That’s what you call a f—ing superstar,” Embiid yelled at the Toronto rapper, who is also the club’s global ambassador. “Get your ass out. I’m coming for that sweep, too.”

Drake, who had been animatedly cheering on the Raps from his courtside seats, was crestfallen after Embiid drained a 3-pointer with 0.8 seconds left in overtime. The five-time NBA All-Star ended the night with 33 points and 13 rebounds in Game 3, lifting the 76ers to a commanding 3-0 series lead.

In the first half, the Raptors limited Embiid to five points. Sixers forward Tobias Harris said afterwards that Drake was trolling Philly’s big man from the sidelines. “In the first half Drake was over there saying [Embiid] can’t play here. I said, ‘He can play here, for sure.’ [Drake] was like, ‘Nah, he can’t play here.’”

Toronto faced the 76ers in the 2019 Eastern Conference semifinals, which the Raps won after Kawhi Leonard knocked down a dramatic buzzer-beater in the closing seconds of Game 7.

Not wanting to resurrect talk of the so-called “Drake curse,” he did not return for Game 7. But after Leonard’s game-winning shot, he posted a video to his Instagram Stories in which he could be heard saying, “Yes, sir.” And as he and his friends celebrated, he panned his phone camera downwards, showing he was wearing a pair of Sixers shorts all along.

The chirping between the two continued as they made their way out of the arena Wednesday night. “Are you going to be there Saturday?” Embiid asked Drake.
“I’ll be there,” a grinning Drake replied. “Are you going to be there?”
